A repeat DWI offender was sentenced to prison time on Tuesday, June 26, according to information from Albany County District Attorney David Soares’ office.
Michael Lamanna, 57, of Colonie was sentenced to 1 1/3 to four years in state prison stemming from a felony DWI charge from March 28, according to Soares’ office. It was Lamanna’s fifth alcohol related conviction, according to Soares’ office. Lamanna also faces license revocation, mandatory ignition interlock device for three years upon release and $1,520 in fines and surcharges, according to Soares’ office.
On March 28, Lamanna was observed operating a vehicle and committing various traffic infraction by Colonie police, and when officers attempted to pull the car over, he increased speed and rear-ended another vehicle, according to Soares’ office. No on in the other vehicle was seriously injured. Lamanna was found with a BAC of .33 percent, according to Soares’ office.
