Complaints of marijuana being sold from a Schenectady residence led police to an arrest.
The Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation following complaints received of marijuana being sold out of 2638 Turner Ave. in Schenectady. During an undercover investigation, Sheriff’s Office personnel purchased marijuana from Edward Richardson Jr. at his residence on two separate occasions, police said.
After further investigation, Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant for Richardson’s residence on Wednesday, March 28, and confiscated approximately 3 ounces of marijuana.
Police arrested Richardson and charged him with two counts of criminal sale of marijuana in the third degree, a felony, two counts of criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor, and criminal possession of marijuana in the fourth degree, also a misdemeanor.
Police also arrested Dana Ward, of the same address, after execution of the search warrant. Ward was charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree.
Schenectady County Sheriff Dominic Dagostino said in a prepared statement, “This arrest is a further indication that the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office will investigate and charge any individual found to be committing these types of illegal acts in Schenectady County. The Sheriff’s Office, Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office and local police agencies will continue to work together to arrest these types of individuals in our community.”
