A tractor trailer driver from Ohio who was hauling produce was arrested for allegedly driving drunk on the Thruway on Saturday, Jan. 7, according to State Police reports.
Balraj S. Bassi, 50, of Ohio was charged with aggravated DWI of a commercial vehicle, according to police reports, after troopers received a report of a tractor trailer being operated by an intoxicated individual on the Thruway around 10:49 p.m. Saturday.
The tractor trailer was stopped on I-87 in the Town of Colonie after it exited the Thruway at exit 24, according to police reports, where Bassi was found to have a BAC of .21 percent. Bassi was arraigned in the Town of Colonie and remanded to the Albany County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, according to police reports.
