DEWITT — Community Bank has announced a partnership with Greenlight Financial Technology, Inc. to offer financial education tools for children and teenagers.
Through the collaboration, eligible Community Bank customers will receive complimentary access to Greenlight’s financial education app and debit card as part of the Greenlight for Banks program.
The Greenlight app provides a suite of financial literacy tools designed to help young users develop money management skills under parental supervision. Features include instant money transfers, automated allowance payments, chore tracking, spending controls, and real-time transaction notifications. Additionally, the app includes Greenlight Level Up, a financial literacy game that offers educational challenges and rewards.
“Financial literacy is essential to building a strong foundation for smart spending and saving habits in the future,” said Shelley Quinn, Community Bank’s head of retail strategy and analytics. “Our partnership with Greenlight is an exciting step forward in helping families navigate their financial future with confidence.”
Research from Greenlight, conducted through Researchscape in 2024, found that 91% of surveyed kids and teens believe financial knowledge is necessary for achieving their life goals, while 94% of parents agreed. However, only 35 states currently mandate personal finance courses in schools, and teens scored an average of 64% on the National Financial Literacy Test. Additionally, 81% of parents surveyed expressed a desire for more financial education resources.
Community Bank customers can enroll in the Greenlight program at no cost by registering at cbna.com/greenlight and linking their Community Bank account as the funding source.
