GLENMONT — National Bank of Coxsackie recently named Jody A. Shaw the new branch manager for its Glenmont location.

Shaw started working at the Glenmont branch in January after having worked within the industry for 30 years, most recently as a branch manager and vice president for Key Bank. Shaw will oversee business development at NBC, too. Her extensive background includes regional management, investment and business development.
“I really was looking into a smaller community bank, and I did a lot of research and knew this would be a great fit for me,” Shaw said, adding that she looks forward to the challenge of expanding the bank’s client base further into the Capital District. The Glenmont branch, located on 331 Route 9W in Glenmont, is the northernmost location for the Coxsackie-based banking chain. “It’s a great team.”
The new, in-coming branch manager said she was also proud of the bank’s reputation for not charging clients with additional management or banking fees.
With a history that traces back to the mid 19th century, NBC has established a local community presence. The bank opened the Glenmont location more than two years ago. Branch employees are made up of local residents who understand the needs of their neighbors and the community at large. NBC provides full banking services, from deposits and loans to retirement planning. They also help with personal, as well as, business finances.
“Everyone is here to help,” said Shaw. “The president, here’s right there. If there’s something that needs to be done, he’s on top of it.” She said that type of response contrasts with the larger firms she once worked for, where action required multiple phone calls before a resolution. “You’re not going to get that here,” she said.
The National Bank of Coxsackie has been apart of the area’s history since 1852. NBC Bank offers services for both personal and business accounts, including residential and commercial lending.
