Robert Wright Disposal continues 60-year-old family legacy with good customer service.
As the oldest local family-owned garbage company in the Capital District, Robert Wright Disposal, Inc. and its staff know a thing or two about customer service.
“We’re reliable. We pick up in any weather, and we’re user friendly. We accommodate our customer’s needs,” said Larry Finke, Robert Wright Disposal’s office manager. And, Finke said, when a customer calls, a real person is on the other end of the phone to help, which oftentimes sets the company apart from its large competitors.
“We strive to have a person answer the phone when you call, and not all that technology and bureaucracy. You call, you get a person, and we take care of your concern,” said Finke.
The late Robert Wright began the company in 1949, and is now headed by Jerry Wright, the founder’s son and current president, and Robert D. Wright, the grandson and vice president.
The more than 60-year-old disposal company offers weekly trash and recycling services, in addition to large item pickup when scheduled, such as appliances and furniture. Roll-off dumpster service is also available upon inquiry through another Wright family company, Cart-Away, LLC, for the bigger projects.
As well, Robert Wright Disposal has a large hand in community organizations. The company supports the Bethlehem Tomboys, the Soccerplex, ToLife!—an organization that supports breast cancer patients and gives education — and the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce.
“As much as possible we use goods and services from the local towns,” said Finke, while the company also provides its services to town events, like the Town of Bethlehem’s Spring Cleanup events and hazardous waste and electronic recycling days for residents.
