MIK Gallery opened May 2015, and has already attracted a full and colorful roster of regional fine artists in this no-pressure, high-quality art zone.
This friendly gallery — mik means ‘friend’ in Albanian — can best be described as an assemblage of thoughtfully adept artists with good venture intentions by University at Albany graduate Caroline Heroux.
Mik Gallery is housed in the upper floors of the charming, Revolutionary War period, The Tailored Tea at 1010 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham. It features creations that complement each artist’s style and fits effortlessly into any existing art collection at home or office.
First we have an extensive collection of George Guarino’s wood-transfer digital collage pieces. Guarino is a clinical hypnotist by profession as well as being a talented artist whose vision transcends media and gets to the heart of what everyone wants; authentic fulfillment, love, health and success.
“Each of my artworks is a mind. Perhaps it’s your mind or the mind of someone whom you invite into your life to teach you how to attain a goal, a change, a feeling that is important to you. I have put important information into each and every piece of my deep trance art that the viewer will uncover as they live with the picture.” Visit DeepTranceArt.com for more of Guarino’s work.
Richard Sacchetti is a long time Schenectady Stockade Show exhibitor. A private person, we are fortunate to have Richard at Mik Gallery.

Michael E. Heroux, also a longtime Schenectady Stockade Art Show exhibitor, is a self-taught artist, volunteers at Mik Gallery and supports other artists. Lou Alpy, a Wood Guild member, will tell you he’s mainly a massage therapy teacher. That may be, but his cellar is a laboratory of rare woods and ideas. Pop in upstairs for the art, camaraderie or the award-winning Tailored Tea scones, just be ready to experience what we’re all about: art, fun, and “friends.” Mik Gallery art and gift shop is open from Thursday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
