Patrons of Dr. Mabel Cheng’s ophthalmology practice can be assured that only the cutting edge of technology is used.
“We have been and always will be a place that utilizes the very best technology with no expense spared to care for our patients,” said Brian Lemanski, Dr. Cheng’s office manager.
Dr. Cheng has been serving the Capital District since 1999. And, before opening her practice in Latham, she was chief surgeon in ophthalmology for CHP/Kaiser Permanente. She’s not only practice in the field, she’s taught future doctors as clinical professor at Albany Medical Center in Ophthalmology.
“We have invested an enormous amount of time and money to give patients the very best opportunities when it comes to protecting their vision in a warm and inviting environment,” said Lemanski. “Equally important is the emphasis on learning and education.”
Her educational background comes into good use when dealing with patients. Patrons are not only treated warmly, but Dr. Cheng’s ophthalmologists take the time to inform the patient with each visit.
“We are working continuously to improve the ways our patients learn, as this is a tenet that Dr. Cheng feels very strongly about,” said Lemanski. “Educating a patient so that they understand what is happening to them not only facilitates the bond between patient and doctor, but also allows the patient to make better informed decisions.”
The staff has grown recently. Dr. Jacob Koczman and Dr. Nicole Lemanski joined the staff this past year, adding to an already warm and inviting environment to keep patients at ease.
Services include Lasik, cataracts, glaucoma, routine eye exams and more. Patient care is for all ages, from children to adult.
Dr. Cheng’s practice is conveniently located at 3140 Troy-Schenectady Road in Latham. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call 518-782-7777.
“Our first and primary goal is the best possible sight for the patient,” said Lemanski.
