The National Bank of Coxsackie is your community bank.
After opening its newest branch last summer in Glenmont, NBC is committed to providing customers with a hometown experience that can’t be furnished by larger banks.
“We want to treat our customers as individuals and work hard to meet their specific needs,” said Branch Manager Kelly Bailey. “We don’t want them to be seen as just another part of our business model.”
The National Bank of Coxsackie has been apart of the area’s history since 1852. Branch employees are made up of local resident’s who understand the needs of their neighbors and the community at large.
“I like to say we can provide private banking services without the fussing and fees,” said Bailey.
NBC provides full banking services, from deposits and loans to retirement planning. They also help with personal, as well as business finances. Bailey said anything a big bank can do, NBC can typically do faster and with a more personal touch.
“All of our approvals go through our main branch in Coxsackie, so everyone we work with is local and easy to reach,” said Bailey.
From blood drives to fund raisers, the newest NBC branch is working hard to become a neighborhood asset.
The day before Christmas, the Glenmont branch received a very special visit from Santa. About 30 children and their parents visited the bank to tell the big guy what they wanted for Christmas, get their picture taken and enjoy some sweet treats.
“We felt it was a unique event that used to be a staple for many banks, but isn’t seen anymore,” said Bailey.
The Glenmont branch will also be holding a mortgage class for the public on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 6 p.m. The class will include presentations from an appraiser, real estate attorney and senior lender, and will help potential first-time homeowners learn how to prepare for mortgage pre-qualification.
Bailey said those looking to buy a home for the first time have typically have a lot of questions. The class is to help educate those people, and teach them about the types of finances and paperwork they should have in place.
“Consumer mortgages are the bread and butter of the bank,” said Bailey. “Having these information sessions is good business and a great tool for our customers.”
Those in attendance should come prepared to take notes and ask questions. There will also be snacks, and raffles with prizes.
“We hope to do greater community outreach in the future.”
The National Bank of Coxsackie’s Glenmont branch is located at 331 Rt. 9W.
