The Guilderland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has named Erika Gauthier, who was serving as the interim-president, to be president of the organization.
Gauthier was named interim-president in October of last year after Kathy Burbank left to become executive director of Community Caregivers. Gauthier was previously the program and membership manager at the Guilderland Chamber since 2009.
Gauthier started her career at the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce focusing on tourism. After a year at the Montgomery Chamber, she worked in marketing at corporate and small businesses. She also has worked with the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce on membership issues.
“This is an exciting time for the Chamber, and I am happy I get to continue my work through some new initiatives we have been working on the last few months,” Gauthier said in a statement.
Gauthier said the chamber is focused on some new ideas aimed at providing more value to chamber members.
“Our priority right now and always has been our members and continuing to build on benefits, programs and opportunities to help them in any way we can,” she said.
Board of Directors Chairwoman Jenni Bliven said the board was `happy to give Erika this continued opportunity to continue the success` she accomplished during her six months as the interim-president.
Gauthier holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and public relations from SUNY Oswego and is in the process of earning her MBA from Excelsior College. She lives in Duanesburg with her husband, Michael, and son, Randy.
