Emerich Sales & Service has provided customers with affordable prices and friendly service for 45 years, and now the family owned business wants to do the same at a second location.
Emerich recently opened its Fort Edward store after searching for a second site for about three years. The new building allows the company to sell farming, lawn and garden-care equipment to a whole new market, as well as offer year-round service and carry a large parts inventory. There are six full-time employees at the new store located at 1369 Route 9, bringing the company’s payroll to a total of 32 dedicated employees.
Emerich’s loyal customer base at its 187 Valentine Road, Charlton, business allowed the company to grow in a down economy.
“We already had a large customer base in the north and decided it was a great location with easy access to the Northway,” owner Kevin Emerich said.
Emerich said always listening to customers and selling them the right equipment is the company’s approach. The service doesn’t stop after the purchase, because the company offers “top notch” after sales support, he said.
The company distinguishes itself from competitors because it has always been a high-volume dealer of all sorts of equipment, which allows for more affordable prices to be passed on to the customer. It also stocks more parts than other area businesses.
“We are known for our low prices,” Emerich said. “We pride ourselves on fast, reliable repairs the first time. We also carry many different brands to give you the largest selection of any dealer around.”
Emerich was recently awarded the Top 100 Plaque from Cub Cadet and was rated the 70th largest Cub Cadet dealer out of 1,500 nationwide. Previously, Emerich was rated the second largest Toro Wheel Horse Dealer in the country.
Some of the power equipment brands Emerich offers are Kubota, Yanmar, Toro, Cub Cadet, Ferris, Walker, Snapper, Exmark, Echo, LandPride, Bush Hog, Ariens and Gravely. On its website, there is a free parts lookup for even more brands with diagrams provided for many items.
Supporting local business and organizations is important to the company, so when opening the Fort Edward store Emerich made sure to purchase paint, carpeting and other supplies from area businesses.
Emerich is offering a winter service special until March 15, which includes free or discounted pick up and delivery and discounts on parts. Every year there is also an open house event and this year it will feature a Cub Cadet test ride with a free T-shirts and hats giveaway.
