One Capital District business is recognizing its anniversary with a giveaway – but it is not just for anyone.
The Consulting Alliance located in Voorheesville is sponsoring Roadmap to Results, a regional competition in honor of their 20th anniversary. They’d like to help a growing business in the area by awarding them $24,000 worth of consulting services. Nancy Schultz, president of Consulting Alliance said it’s a way to share the company’s success.
“Our greatest accomplishment has been the growth of our organization to attract the finest consultants in the area and growing together,” she said.
The competition is open to any profit, nonprofit or public organization and applications are due by Oct. 10. Information and applications for the competition can be found at www.consultingalliance.org/competition.
The winner of the competition will receive services of an alliance or team of consultants for four days. The team will provide the winner with an assessment of their organization as well as identification and a management plan to address its chief issue of concern.
“The process will culminate in a set of strategic recommendations (or Roadmap), showing how the organization can achieve its objectives,” reads a statement from the Consulting Alliance.
In selecting a winner, the alliance will look at criteria such as the organization’s resources and track record, its positive impacts on the community and the management team.
The Consulting Alliance was founded by a small group of Albany businesspeople. That group is now up to 50 members. It not only provides its own consulting services, but provides resources to smaller, independent consultants in the Capital District. Schultz said the group makes it a point to stay abreast of the changing business environment in order to stay relevant.
“We continue to advance in a different way,” said Shultz who pointed to social media as a new point of interest for the alliance.
The winner of the Roadmap to Results contest will be announced sometime in December or January, according to Schultz.
“We found it’s the best time of year, the best skilled workers will be available,” said Schultz.
The Chamber of Southern Saratoga County is one group advertising the contest to its members.
`The Chamber is pleased to count the Consulting Alliance among our strategic partners helping to build the new economy of Tech Valley,` said Chamber President and CEO Pete Bardunias. `The Roadmap to Results will enable the recipient to get advice from experts and a chance to dramatically increase the strength, profitability and productivity of their business or organization.”
