RAVENA — The Ravena Coeymans Selkirk High School Music Department inducted their 2022-23 inductees into the Tri-M Music Honor Society during the first concert of the school year on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The distinction is awarded to students who demonstrate hard work and dedication to music, music education, and our community. The senior student members of the RCS Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter conducted the ceremony and formally inducted the new members.
Established in the fall of 2017, RCS students must apply and meet a list of criteria to be accepted into the Tri-M Music Honor Society. This criteria includes meeting community service, music performance, and academic requirements, as well as demonstrating the society’s pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
“The Tri-M Music Honor Society provides opportunities for participation, collaboration, and leadership for students within their community to support music education and advocacy,” said K-12 Music and Art Curriculum Content Specialist and High School Choral Director Michelle McLoughlin. “We are so proud to welcome these students to Tri-M. They have all demonstrated their strong musical commitment and will well represent the RCS Music Department in the greater community.”
A wonderful first concert of the year! Congratulations to our students on their beautiful performances. The concert also included a special guest performance during one of the Chorus songs from local musician and RCS alumnus Brian Melick.
New inductees include Emma Banahan, Kendall Bullock, Sydney Campbell, Molly Engelhardt, Hannah Ryan, Paul Truncale and Aurora Wagner.
They will join Chloe Canham, Jenna Grogan, Harry Lindmark, Maximillian May, Maeve Newkirk, Alivia Ortiz, Elizabeth Robertson and Abigail St. John; all returning members for the 2022-2023 school year.
