DWI
A 34-year-old North Carolina woman was arrested for DWI on Tuesday, Oct. 4, after police pulled her over at around 9:41 p.m. for vehicle and traffic violations while she was driving on Albany Shaker road.
According to reports, the woman showed signs of impairment and tested positive for alcohol on a pre-screening device.
She stands charged with the misdemeanors of DWI first offense, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of more than .08 percent and aggravated DWI with a BAC of more than .18 percent as well as being ticketed with the infractions of failure to stay in a single lane and illegal use of a signal.
DWI
A 32-year-old Corona man was arrested for DWI after getting into a property damage accident on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
According to reports, when police arrived at the Central Avenue scene at around 5:35 p.m., the man exhibited “multiple signs of intoxication” and was administered standardized field sobriety tests and alcohol pre-screening tests.
He stands charged with the misdemeanors of DWI first offense and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more and was ticketed for the infractions of operating a motor vehicle without a license and drinking alcohol while in a motor vehicle on the highway.
Weapon charges
A 67-year-old Latham man turned himself in on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to face weapons charges.
According to reports, Scott Berkowitz faces two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon — one for allegedly illegally possessing an assault rifle and one for allegedly possessing an illegal ammo clip.
DWI

Weapon charges
A 27-year-old Cohoes man was arrested for weapon possession after a domestic incident at the Sunoco on New Loudon Road.
According to reports, police arrived at the Sunday, Oct. 9 scene at around 4:13 p.m. and arrested Matthew Powers for the felony of criminal possession of a weapon and the misdemeanor of menacing.
Grand larceny
A 27-year-old Troy man was arrested on a host of charges after police answered a “check subject” call at the NBT Bank on Wolf Road.
According to reports, Trevor Jones allegedly tried to withdraw funds from an account with insufficient funds using a copy of a forged check.
When police arrived, Jones tried to run past the officers but he was arrested.
He stands charged with felony grand larceny as well as the misdemeanor of resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration.
DWAI by drugs
A 59-year-old Menands man was arrested for DWAI by drugs after he drove out of the parking lot of Moe’s on Wolf Road and into a tree.
According to reports, police responded to the Tuesday, Oct. 11 scene at around 7:51 p.m. and found the man exhibiting signs of impairment.
He was administered field sobriety tests and stands charged with the misdemeanor of DWAI by drugs as well as being ticketed with the infractions of drinking alcohol while in a motor vehicle on a highway and driving with an improper license plate.
Criminal possession
A 26-year-old Schenectady man was arrested on drug charges after allegedly threatening another person with a wrench on Mary Hadge Drive.
According to reports, when police responded to the Tuesday, Oct. 11, scene at around 12:44 a.m. Kenneth Horton resisted arrest and fled the scene.
He was eventually apprehended and police allegedly found an unknown substance hidden in his sock.
According to reports he appeared to be overdosing on an unknown substance and was taken to Ellis Hospital for evaluation. The substance was later determined to be methamphetamine and alprazolam.
He stands charged with the felony of criminal possession of a stimulant as well as the misdemeanors of criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and resisting arrest.
Robbery
A 22-year-old Troy man under arrest for unrelated charges was transported to the Colonie Police Department on Wednesday, Oct. 12, to face a host of felony charges.
According to reports, Vincent Ward was wanted for stealing a number of cell phones from a number of stores around the Capital District.
In Colonie, he stands charged with the felonies robbery and two felonies of grand larceny as well as the misdemeanors of conspiracy and petit larceny.
Burglary
A 53-year-old Albany man was arrested by Troy police and brought to the Colonie Police Department on Thursday, Oct. 13, to face a felony burglary charge.
According to reports, Herbert Kutash Jamison stands charged with the abovementioned felony as well as the misdemeanor of petit larceny.
Criminal mischief
A 54-year-old Troy man was arrested on a felony after a domestic incident on Thursday, Oct. 13, on East Hills Boulevard.
According to reports, at around 2:56 a.m., police arrested Peter Bizzarro and charged him with the felony of criminal mischief and the violation of harassment.
He was sent to the Albany County jail pending arraignment.
Grand larceny
A 19-year-old Schenectady man was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 13, for stealing a motorcycle in March.
According to reports, police charged William Kelone with the felony of grand larceny for allegedly stealing a Honda motorcycle and a bicycle from a home on Arcadia Court.
He was brought to the Albany County jail pending arraignment.
Credit card fraud
On Sept. 25, while investigating an unrelated matter, state troopers found Stephen D. Kirkley, 29, of Albany, in possession of stolen credit cards and IDs.
The investigation determined Kirkley used one of the stolen credit cards to purchase items at the Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Crossgates Mall.
Kirkley was arrested at the Albany County jail where he was being held on an unrelated matter. He stands charged with ID theft, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Guilderland Town Court on Thursday, Oct. 20 and sent back to the jail.
DWI
On Friday, Oct. 7, at about 11:35 p.m. State Police stopped a vehicle on Troy-Schenectady Road after observing multiple violations of Vehicle and Traffic Law.
During an interview, the operator was identified as a 27-year-old Clifton Park man and troopers detected the odor of an alcohol.
Roadside sobriety tests were conducted which indicated impairment. He was arrested for DWI, a misdemeanor, and he provided a breath sample that returned a 0.12 BAC.
