COLONIE — A 34-year-old Albany man was arrested on weapons charges after police responded to a domestic incident at the Econo Lodge on Central Avenue.
According to Lt. Daniel Belles, police arrived at 1630 Central Ave. at around 11:30 p.m. He said officers determined Victor Williams choked and harassed the victim and was in violation of an order of protection.
Officers obtained a search warrant for his hotel room and allegedly found a large quantity of marijuana and other contraband that will be tested for the presence of controlled substances.
Officers also found a loaded 9mm Luger handgun. Williams did not have a permit.
Williams stands charged with two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and the felony of criminal contempt as well as the misdemeanors of criminal obstruction of breathing and criminal possession of cannabis. He was also charged with the violation of harassment.
He was sent to the Albany County jail pending court proceedings.
