COLONIE — Central Avenue traffic will be slow going on Saturday, Sept. 17, to make way for a parade.
The Village of Colonie will continue to celebrate its centennial (plus one) with the parade that will kick off on Walker Way, march to Jupiter Lane, down Central Avenue to Lincoln Avenue and finish up at Cook Park.
The side streets will be closed on a rolling basis as the marchers take over.
Central Avenue eastbound will be closed. The westbound lane will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
The village incorporated in 1921 but delayed its centennial celebration until 2022 because of COVID.
Lt. Robert Donnelly said it is best to avoid the area from 12:30 to 3 p.m.
