LATHAM — The Shaker boys lacrosse team started out on a high note by beating Columbia 13-1 in the season and home Suburban Council opener.
Junior Eric Hennessey had four goals and an assist to lead the Bison while senior Owen Wilson had two goals and an assist and senior Colin Brant had two goals. Senior Michael LaCouture had a goal and an assist and Charles Rose, James Easton, Carter Fort and Jack Burns had a goal each.
Senior Ryan Mazzaniello had five saves in goal for Shaker.
Anthony McLaughlin had the lone goal for Columbia.
Shaker will host Bethlehem on Tuesday, April 5 and host Troy on Thursday, April 7.
