COLONIE — The Shaker girls got by Nisky, 1-0, in the Suburban Council tournament semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 19, and will square off against Shen for the championship on Saturday.
Senior Isabella Tronco scored the game’s lone goal early in the first half and Bison keeper Lauren Folgia had eight saves to help preserve the win for the No. 2 seed. Emma Anderson had 10 saves for the No. 3 seed Niskayuna.
Shaker will take on the No. 1 seed from Shen in Clifton Park at 11 a.m. The last time the two teams met, in early October, they played to a 0-0 tie. This year will not have sectional or state play and all regular season games only played to the end of regulation with no overtime or shoot outs.
