Two men from Queens were killed and three local women were seriously injured in a crash on Central Avenue near Lombard Street shortly after midnight on Friday, July 17.
According to Lt. Robert Donnelly, the two men were in a 2010 Nissan when Naquain Key, 31, pulled onto Central Avenue after leaving Shenanigan’s Gentlemen’s Club when his car was struck broadside by a 2014 Volkswagen travelling westbound and driven by Shanjaine Foskey-Gause, 20, of Cohoes.
Key and his passenger, Najee Parks, 31, were killed in the crash.
Foskey-Gause and her two passengers — Jamilla Battle, 20, of Rensselaer and a female in her early 20s not named by police — were taken to Albany Medical Center with severe injuries.
Central Avenue was shut down in both directions from shortly after the crash until about 7:10 a.m.
The Colonie Police Traffic Division investigate the incident. Colonie EMS and the Stanford Heights and Midway fire departments responded.
The investigation is continuing and police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has video footage or other information to contact the Traffic Division at 518 783-2744.
