
COLONIE — A 26-year-old homeless man was arrested on Tuesday, June 2 for allegedly breaking into vehicles at the Albany County Correctional Facility, stealing several items, and then using a stolen credit card to make purchases in Schenectady.
According to Sheriff Craig Apple, Sr., Lucas Kaplan was released from the jail on Friday, May 29.
The vehicles he broke into were owned by staff at the jail.
Kaplan is charged with grand larceny, unlawful possession of personal information and two counts of petit larceny.
He was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
