COLONIE — A 42-year-old Schenectady man was arrested for allegedly possessing 162 pounds of marijuana after his growing operation started a fire at 2895 Curry Road.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, on May 28 a passing motorist reported the fire at around 8:12 a.m.
The fire was quickly extinguished and the marijuana growing operation was discovered. A search warrant was executed and the 162 pounds of pot was found.
The Colonie Fire Services Division investigated the blaze and determined it was caused by an electrical issue related to the grow operation, Winn said.
Jason Teagle turned himself in on Tuesday, June 2 to face a felony count of criminal possession of marijuana.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
