COLONIE — A 21-year-old Albany man arrested eight times since April, 2019 was arrested again on Sunday, May 10 for threatening a woman with a handgun.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, a female reported that Robert Wadsworth was in possession of a handgun in the area of the Speedway gas station at 2222 Central Ave. and had threatened her.
Wadsworth’s vehicle was spotted by officer Conor Anson in the parking lot of the Lisha Kill Reformed Church at 2131 Central Ave. and he and two other occupants of the vehicle were detained without incident.
Wadsworth was placed under arrest after police found an illegal Lorcin .380 semi-automatic handgun in his possession that was reported stolen from Alabama in 2007. The two others were released without charges.
Wadsworth, who was arrested on five felonies and 12 misdemeanors in the past year including burglary, assault and resisting arrest, was charged with the felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property and the misdemeanor of criminal contempt.
He was sent to the Albany County jail pending arraignment.
