COLONIE — A 26-year-old Florida man was arrested on Sunday, April 18 for allegedly traveling to town and having sex with a 16-year-old girl.
According to police, Carlos Robles met the victim online and had sexual intercourse with her at the Motel 6 on Central Avenue during the weekend of April 10 through April 12.
Police became involved, said Lt. Robert Winn, when the victim’s father alerted authorities that Robles was located at the Red Roof Inn on Wolf Road on April 18.
The hotel room was searched and his cell phone and computer devices were confiscated.
He is also suspected of meeting the same victim on April 3 to April 5 at a hotel in Albany. That information has been turned over to Albany police to investigate.
The interview with Robles provided information on potential other victim(s) in Florida and/or Texas, and anyone who has information or believes they were victimized by Robles are asked to contact the Colonie Police Department or their local authorities.
Robles was arraigned on felony rape and the misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child. He was remanded to the Albany County jail on $25,000 cash bail or $35,000 bond.
