Tax Day is being pushed back three months, from April 15 to July 15, to help those who have to pay deal with the unprecedented financial burden brought on by the response to the pandemic COVID-19.
All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties,” said Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Friday on social media.
“I encourage all taxpayers who may have tax refunds to file now to get your money.”
Gov. Andrew Cuomo, during his daily briefing on Friday, said the state tax filing deadline would follow the federal timeframe.
