SPOTTED: Saratoga wins Section II gymnastics title; Bethlehem places second, Guilderland third and Shaker fourth

COLONIE — Saratoga won its 19th Section II gymnastics title with a combined score of 173.650.

Bethlehem came in second at 167.5, followed by Guilderland with 160.450 and Shaker with 157.975.

Blue Steaks gymnasts took the top three places too: Sophia Damiano finished in first with a combined score on the four exercises of 37.350. Ava Dallas finished in second with 36.95 and Carly Ruschack third with 34.6.

Bethlehem’s Alison Gray placed fourth with 34.5 and her teammate Chloe Kosoc came in fifth with a score of 34.425. Addison Seebode, of Guilderland, placed sixth with a score of 34.150 followed by Trinity Walters, of Bethlehem (33.1,) Giana Aquino, of Shaker (32.8,), Carli Rem, of Guilderland (32.675) and Allison Rem, of Guilderland (32.25.)

Damiano set a meet record on the vault with a score of 9.450 and won the balance beam and the floor exercises. Dallas won the uneven bars with a score of 9.225.

Qualifying Section II gymnasts will travel to the state meet on Feb. 29 at Cold Spring Harbor High School.
