
COLONIE — Three people were arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 11 for selling heroin out of the Lake Shore Apartments in Watervliet.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, the arrests came after a four-month investigation during which Yuriy Ponomarev, 36, of Colonie, allegedly sold heroin to an undercover investigator twice and was caught again allegedly selling the drug on surveillance video from his apartment.
Following his arrest, a search warrant was executed at the apartment in the Lake Shore Apartment Complex. Joseph Dinovo, 69, of Rexford, ran out the back door but was apprehended after a short foot chase. He was allegedly in possession of concentrated cannabis.
Jaclyn Smith, 35, of Watervliet, Ponomarev’s girlfriend, was apprehended in the apartment and was found to be in possession of six grams of heroin.

Ponomarev was charged with three felonies of criminal sale of a controlled substance, Smith was charged with four counts of the same while Dinovo faces the misdemeanors of criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest as well as the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.
Ponomarev and Smith were arraigned in Colonie Town Court and Dinovo was released on an appearance ticket.
