COLONIE — A 65-year-old Troy man was seriously injured after getting hit by a car while crossing Wolf Road near the Sand Creek Road intersection.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, the pedestrian, Gerald Buchanan, of Troy, was in the crosswalk at around 7:45 a.m. heading west when he was struck by a vehicle that had turned north on Wolf Road from Sand Creek Road.
Buchanan suffered a serious head injury and was transported to Albany Medical Hospital by Colonie EMS.
The driver, Kathy Cioppa, 58, of Colonie, was not injured and stopped her 2010, gray Toyota Camry immediately after the accident.
There is no indication speed, alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash and no tickets have been issued, but it is still under investigation by the Colonie Police Traffic Safety Unit.
There were traffic restrictions for about an hour.
