Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association will once again sponsor a Drive About And Tour Of Historic Homes, in and near the Village of Schoharie on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is to “Celebrate Our Recovery” from the devastation brought to our community from Hurricane Irene in August 2011.
Start your day in Schoharie at the Creamery Building at 143 Depot Lane. There will be 16 sites open. A booklet of stories of each site during and after the flood, along with its historical background will be given with each ticket. These stories are an accumulation of everyone’s story, where they were on the day of the flood and what transpired after. They promise to tug at your heart strings.
A special luncheon will be served at Lasell Hall by the Schoharie Chapter of the DAR. A reservation is required, so call 518-295-7505.
At the end of the day, the Schoharie Presbyterian Church will host a chicken and biscuit dinner — no reservations needed. Mark your calendars now. If you love history, you’ll love this tour! Needless to say, we are proud of what we have accomplished and are anxious to share with you!
