TROY — The crew at Two Buttons Deep threw a near-impromptu party on the Dutch Apple Cruise on Friday, Oct. 19, and it went swimmingly.
Tickets for the cruise sold out before setting off down the Hudson River. Fans of the news and entertainment website embarked on a trip which proceeds went to a good cause.
According to Two Buttons Deep, the event raised more than $300 towards StreetSoldiers, a grassroots organization that helps provide hot meals and needed essentials to the homeless.
Musician Xavier White and DJ Hollywood provided the entertainment, and complimentary drinks were offered by Nine Pin Cider and Chatham Brewing.
Two Button Deep co-founder Jack Carpenter expressed his initial doubts of the party’s success on the popular website. He admitted he was wrong.
“Not only did we sell out, but everyone was vibing and dancing the entire night,” stated Carpenter. “Maybe it was the free Nine Pin or Chatham Brewing everybody got while boarding the boat, maybe it was Xavier White’s killer performance, maybe it was DJ Hollywood’s jam factory, or maybe it was the fact we had a good group of people going all buttons deep in harmony, which after all is the foundation of our brand.”
