SPOTTED: Guilderland’s All Star run comes to an end

GUILDERLAND – The Guilderland All Star team’s outstanding run came to an end on Wednesday, July 25 at the hands of Penfield by a score of 4-1.

The host team beat Vestal on July 21, 8-5, then Penfield 4-3 on July 22 before dropping one to Great Kills National, of Staten Island, on July 24 by a score of 14-1.

The team of 8-10-year-olds were then eliminated by Penfield.

Penfield will play Great Kills for the state championship on Thursday, July 26, at Roger Keenholts Park. If Great Kills wins the 5:30 p.m. game, they are the champs. if Penfield wins, the two will play again for the championship at 8 p.m.
