ALBANY – The county Department of Health is looking for the person or persons who wrapped an injured/dead coyote in a blanket and dropped it off at the Shaker Veterinary Hospital at 223 Maxwell Road.
It was dropped off on Friday, June 29.
While acknowledging those responsible as Good Samaritans, the DOH is warning people that wild animals can have diseases, such as rabies, and can pose a risk to people and domestic pets.
The DOH is trying to determine if there was any improper human physical contact with the animal and if there were any illness and/or diseases transmitted.
Anyone who knows who is responsible is asked to call Albany County Department of Health at 518-447-4620.
