COLONIE – A 58-year-old Interlaken man showed up at Colonie Center on Thursday, May 10, thinking he was going to meet a 14-year-old boy for a sexual encounter.
Instead, officers from the Computer Crime Unit put him in handcuffs.
According to police, Charles David Hull engaged in conversations of a sexual nature and/or sent nude photos of himself on three occasions – Dec. 7, 2016, June 23, 2017 and Jan. 22. He thought he was talking to a 14-year-old boy, according to Lt. Robert Winn.
There was a meeting place and time established and Hull was arrested without incident.
Interlaken is a tiny town in Seneca County.
All communication between Hull and investigators was through the internet and phone. At this time, there is no known other victims and no known access to children in his personal or professional life, Winn said.
He is a retired employee for New York state.
Hull is charged with the felony of disseminating indecent material to a minor.
