COLONIE – A 57-year-old man is under arrest for sending seven videos/images of child pornography to police officers working undercover in the department’s Computer Crimes Unit.

According to Lt. Robert Winn, the images were sent during the summer of 2017. The investigation identified the location of the internet protocol address and on Feb. 2, a search warrant was executed.
Computers and media storage devices were seized from 11 Arnold Ave. in Colonie and will be sent to the State Police for a forensic examination.
Charles J. Hale Jr. is charged with two felonies of promoting a sexual performance of a child.
There is no indication he had any contact with any underage victims or that any children in the videos and images he transmitted and/or had in his possession were local, Winn said.
However, due to the nature of the charges, if anyone has any information about the defendant, or believes they were victimized by the defendant they are urged to contact Colonie police at 518-783-2744.
Colonie police were assisted with the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force and the State Police.
Hale was arraigned in Colonie Town Court and remanded to the Albany County jail without bail.
