ALBANY – A 20-year-old Cohoes man will spend the next 20 years in state prison for shooting to death another man on Father’s Day.

In December, 2017, Richard Duckett pleaded guilty to shooting Terrance Roberts, 46, of Albany, once in the side and once in the head.

Prior to the June 18, 2017, shooting, there was an altercation between Roberts and Duckett’s co-defendants Jasmine and Brittany Mingo.

The two women helped Duckett flea the scent and previously pleaded guilty to the felony of hindering prosecution. They are slated to get sentenced next month.

Duckett was sentenced by Judge William Carter. Street Crimes Unit Bureau Chief Jessica Blain-Lewis prosecuted.
