COLONIE – A Scotia woman was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 4, for trying to board a plane with a stolen .38 caliber handgun.
According to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, the gun was found in the luggage of Amy Glass when she was trying to check her baggage at the Southwest Airlines ticket counter.
She does not have a permit to carry a pistol, and a check of the handgun revealed it was stolen in Tennessee in 2011, according to Apple.
She was charged with the felony of criminal possession of stolen property and the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a weapon.
She was released on $750 bail and is due back in Colonie Town Court on Jan. 24.
