VOORHEESVILLE — Capital Region residents are invited to gather at the new Thacher State Park Visitor Center this Thursday, Sept. 14, for Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy’s fall fundraiser: 25 Years of Conservation: A Celebration.
Guests will enjoy views from the Helderberg Escarpment, overlooking lands MHLC and its supporters have worked to preserve since the organization was founded a quarter of a century ago.
This year’s event will honor of the Conservancy’s institutional partners and recognize 25th Anniversary Honoree Matthew Bender IV, “for his extraordinary commitment to MHLC.”
A special ceremony will also recognize founding members of MHLC and their commitment to local conservation since 1992. David Shern, a founding board member, is expected to fly in from his home in Florida to reflect on the organization’s history and accomplishments.
The celebration begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Garden Bistro 24, beverages provided by Capital Wine and Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and Brewery, and William David Simcoe will perform classical guitar music.
The fall fundraiser will include the 25th Anniversary Raffle, an opportunity to win one of ten baskets featuring prizes from Capital Region vendors and community members. To RSVP or buy raffle tickets, visit www.mohawkhudson.org or call 518-436- 6346. All proceeds will support MHLC.
