ALBANY – A 52-year-old Schoharie County man was arrested for driving with three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system after he drove off the road in the Town of Knox.
According to Sheriff Craig Apple, on May 7, at around 6:17 p.m., deputies responded to an auto accident on Berne Altamont Road.
Upon arrival they saw a white, smashed up sports car “draped in wires” and multiple telephone poles that were damaged, according to Apple.
Paul Petrosino approached the deputies and said he was not injured and refused medical treatment.
He submitted to a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed and was arrested for DWI.
Petrosino later took a chemical breath test and his BAC was .24 percent, or three times the legal limit.
He is charged with two DWIs and aggravated DWI – which are felonies since he had a DWI within the last 10 years – and a host of vehicle and traffic violations.
He was arraigned in Knox Town Court and remanded to the Albany County jail on $30,000 cash or bond bail. He is due back in court on June 7.
