Alive at Five road closures

ALBANY — The Office of Special Events & Cultural Affairs released the schedule of road closures for downtown Thursday, as the city prepares to kick off Alive at Five this week.

Road closures:
(Will be in effect for each concert held on Broadway, beginning Thursday, June 9.)

  • Broadway from Columbia to Steuben: 9am – midnight
  • Broadway from Steuben to Pine: 12pm – midnight
  • James Street from Columbia to Pine: 12pm – midnight
  • Steuben Street from James to Broadway: 12pm – midnight

Open to through traffic:

  • Pine Street & Columbia Street

No parking:

  • Broadway from Columbia to Pine: 6am – midnight
  • Steuben Street from James to Broadway: 6am – midnight
  • James Street from Columbia to Pine: 11am – midnight

Parking information:
$5 flat fee parking will be available at the Quackenbush Square Garage, located at 677 Broadway in Albany. Handicap parking is available at the Riverfront Garage at Broadway & Columbia Street. For additional parking options, visit www.parkalbany.com.

CDTA Event Day Bus Passes:
Alive at Five transportation sponsor CDTA will provide free Event Day Bus Passes for the dates of each Alive at Five concert to Albany County residents. Riders will be able to pick up passes at the front desk of Albany City Hall (24 Eagle St), the Albany Visitors Center (25 Quackenbush Square), the Downtown Albany BID (21 Lodge St) and the Central Avenue BID (176 Central Ave) on the Wednesday before each show, while supplies last.

CDTA re-routes:

  • 10, 12, 734 Eastbound: Regular route until State St & Pearl St, Left on Pearl St, right Clinton Ave, Right Broadway, Left Orange to staging area.
  • 22 Northbound: Regular route to State St & Pearl St, Left Pearl St, Right Clinton Ave, Left Broadway to regular route.
  • 22 Southbound: Regular route until Broadway & Clinton Ave, Right Clinton Ave, Left Pearl St, Right State St to regular route.
  • 114 Eastbound: Regular route to Suny Plaza bus stop, Left State St, Right Pearl St (Pick up at Capital Rep bus stop Pearl & Van Tromp St) right on highway to regular route.
  • 114 Westbound: Regular route to Broadway & Clinton Ave continue on Clinton Ave, Left on Pearl St, Left on State St, Right on Broadway to regular route.
  • Northway Express, 224, 719, 522 Northbound: Regular route until State & Pearl St, Left Pearl St, Right Clinton Ave, Right Broadway, Left Orange St, Right Water St (Pick up at Bus Stop Behind Kiernan Plaza) then to highway regular route.
