The City of Albany has announced that the 27th Alive at Five–Albany’s free live music summer series–will be held this year at Tricentennial Park on Broadway to allow for construction on walking/biking pathways at Corning Riverfront Park, where the events have traditionally been held.

June 9
5:00 p.m. | Jocamo
Group of veteran musicians who’ve taken it upon themselves to bring their old school brew of Funk, R&B, Soul and Rock to the masses.
6:30 p.m. | Dr. John and the Nite Trippers
A six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Dr. John is a true icon in American culture and is known throughout the world as the embodiment of New Orleans’ musical legacy.

5:00 p.m. | Good Fiction
A three piece alternative rock band that hails from Albany, their eccentric fuzz basslines, melodic vocals, and stinging guitar solos have been heard everywhere from basements to headlining gigs.
6:30 p.m. | The Joy Formidable
Founded in 2009, these Welsh rockers have performed as openers for legendary artists and acts from Sir Paul McCartney to The Foo Fighters and The Black Keys. The fantastic live band was once described by Rolling Stone as “wickedly bracing and Himalaya-huge.”

A highly talented, well-rounded artist born and raised in Upstate, NY, Amar is a singer, songwriter, and performer.. In 2012 Tameka released her first EP “Introducing Tameka Amar” showcasing seven new songs.
6:30 p.m. | Tony! Toni! Toné!
Oakland, California’s Tony! Toni! Toné! is regarded the world over as a talented, authentic group of musicians who made some of the best R&B music of the ‘80s and ‘90s.

5:00 p.m. | Thump Gospel (As Michael Jackson)
With a lineup reading like a “who’s who” of the local hip-hop, jazz and funk circuits, Thump Gospel arrived on the Capital Region scene earlier this year as a fully-formed force to be reckoned with.
6:30 p.m. | The Chronicles (As Earth, Wind and Fire)
For one night only, The Chronicles will pay tribute to funk soul legends, Earth, Wind, & Fire. Expect to see the band nearly double in size, bringing in some of the area’s best vocalists, percussion and horn players. The band will chronify classics of EWF into an intoxicatingly uplifting set.

Since 1995, Enter The Haggis have led the charge among Celtic Folk Rock bands, delighting fans with their memorable performances, inspired songwriting, musical proficiency and high quality recordings.

5:00 p.m. | The Titanics
After recording a series of ambient pop demos in a shed on his parents property Mark Lombardo turned many heads in the Albany, NY music scene. Titanics offers a fresh and peaceful sound through the use of synthesizers, electronic beats and warm pads.
6:30 p.m. | Bloc Party
Bloc Party are a four-piece from London who specialize in spiky, anthemic, danceable rock music and who have defined themselves as one of the UK’s most loved musical exports. Bloc Party’s new album HYMNS is a rebirth for the band.

From the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, Skeeter Creek has become much more than a band – it’s a way of life for these talented, professional musicians.
6:30 p.m. | LOCASH
It’s an exciting time to be LOCASH these days. Preston Brust and Chris Lucas have enjoyed hit singles, sold-out concert appearances here and abroad, and have tasted the top of the chart as two of Nashville’s quickest-rising songwriters. LOCASH have performed on the TODAY Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

5:00 p.m. | Tumbleweed Highway
Deeply rooted in tradition with a present day flavor, Tumbleweed Highway coins their sound “American Rock n Roll”.
6:30 p.m. | Molly Hatchet
Molly Hatchet’s self-titled debut album was released on Epic records in 1978 and reached multi-platinum status as the band toured with such bands as Aerosmith, Bob Seger, The Rolling Stones and many more. In 1979, Flirtin’ With Disaster was released and history was in the making.

During each event, there will be special ground rules in effect at the park: No alcoholic beverages, coolers, backpacks, bags, containers, packages, thermoses, cups, bottles, cans, flasks, glass containers of any kind, recording of performances, animals or pets (excluding ADA-defined service animals). All City of Albany parks are now tobacco-free. Security personnel reserve the right to inspect any bag, container or package and confiscate any prohibited or illegal items. Any type of recording of the performance or presentation is prohibited without prior written consent. All attendees should be prepared to present age identification at any time if they intend to consume alcohol. Ground rules are subject to change without notice; exceptions made for medical or child care reasons may be addressed individually.
*CDTA and the City of Albany will provide free Event Day Bus Passes for each Alive at Five concert to Albany County residents. Riders will be able to pick up passes at the Albany City Hall and additional locations throughout the city–the passes will be available from 10am-4pm on the Wednesday before each show, while supplies last. One pass per person; riders must present valid ID with an Albany County address and be able to identify the bands playing that week’s concert to be eligible for an Event Day Bus Pass.
