Why are you running for a seat on the Town Board?
I believe that my accumulated experience over the past 15 years of working for my community has made me very well prepared to serve on the Town Board. I want to work to ensure the Town continues to improve, flourish and remain safe.
How will your experience serve you on the Town Board?
The experience I have gained as a member of the Town Planning Board and as a Village Board member has given me a unique perspective as too how municipal government works best. Local government works best when you truly listen to what the people have too say and pay attention to the details. But most importantly you need to hire good people who are qualified and will work toward the goals you set.
What do you think are the biggest challenges facing the Town?
Over the next several years the Town needs to work hard to address infrastructure issues such as roads that need paving, areas the still have flooding issues and water and sewer line repairs. In addition, many residents are concerned with heavy traffic in their neighborhoods.
What are your ideas for addressing these challenges?
The town has already begun the process of preparing a paving plan and schedule which over the next several years will start repairing worn out roads. I would also encourage a capital plan to address water line repair and assessment of our storm sewer lines in flood prone areas. I believe that traffic issues can only be addresses through discussion with State DOT Region 1 representatives to assess the real causes of congestion and identify where resolutions may be found to geve relief to the choke points. An initial ad hoc traffic study committee has already been established.
