Candidates running for contested positions in this year’s town elections have been invited to speak in a political forum in their respective communities of Bethlehem, Colonie and Guilderland.
Spotlight News – in conjunction with The League of Women Voters, The Bethlehem Chamber, The Colonie Chamber, Capital Area Council of Churches and The Altamont Enterprise – is co-sponsoring the events. Each forum will enable voters to listen to each candidate in a fair and moderated environment.
Thursday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Town Hall.
Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at 7 p.m. at Radisson Hotel Albany
Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. at Guilderland High School
Each forum is in a structured time format allowing candidates the opportunity for opening statements, followed by questions from the audience. The two-hour event includes a one-hour session for Town Board candidates, followed by a second hour dedicated to Town Supervisor candidates.
Campaign signs, tee shirts or any other form of demonstration for party affiliation or candidates will be forbidden. Candidates will be allowed to distribute campaign literature after closing statements have concluded.
Members of the press are welcomed to attend. Photography or any other form of recording will remain exclusive to credited members of the press only.
