Law enforcement is warning that there might be significant traffic delays in Saratoga Springs this weekend due to the annual Flag Day parade and two days of Dave Matthews Band concerts at SPAC.
The Flag Day parade will be held on Broadway Saturday, June 9. It starts at noon and is expected to last up to three hours. The parade will begin on North Broadway, proceed south on Broadway and end in Congress Park. To accommodate the parade, Broadway will be closed to all motor vehicle traffic (from the intersection of Broadway and Van Dam Street to the intersection of Broadway and Circular Street). All streets intersecting with Broadway in this area will be closed one block prior to reaching Broadway.
Motorists may experience long traffic delays during the parade when approaching Broadway, particularly when approaching Broadway from Route 50, Route 9S, Washington Street, Lake Avenue or Church Street (Route 9N).
The Dave Matthews Band will be performing at SPAC on Friday and Saturday, and both shows are sell-outs (25,000). This is also expected to add to the traffic congestion.
