The Town of Bethlehem released the following information today regarding this year’s tax bills.
Corrected property tax bills are being sent out to adjust a clerical error in the Water District #1 tax rate, which serves a majority of Town residents. This adjustment will reduce previously sent bills, and those who have already paid the original tax bill will be issued refunds. The reduction will be $7.58 per $100,000 of assessment (for example, a home assessed at $150,000 would receive a corrected bill that is lower by -$11.37). Those who pay their taxes through mortgage escrow accounts need not take any action.
