State Police said a seven-year-old boy was ejected from an SUV during a rollover crash on the Thruway in the Town of Bethlehem.
Police said six people were inside the vehicle when it rolled over Friday, Dec. 23, at 1:46 a.m. Police said the SUV was traveling northbound when it left the roadway off the east shoulder during a heavy rainstorm. The vehicle rolled at least twice before coming to rest on its wheels.
The young boy, who was sitting in the back seat, was thrown from the SUV. Police did not find a car seat in the vehicle.
The boy’s older brother, Max Rowe, 17, of Flushing, was driving the vehicle. Rowe was issued traffic tickets in connection with the accident.
All six people inside the SUV, including an 11-year-old girl, were taken to Albany Medical Center. Police reported they were all in stable condition.
The crash blocked one northbound lane of the Thruway for a short time.
