The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that Siena College and Joseph Bruno Stadium in Troy will host next year’s league baseball tournament.
It’s the first time since 1988 that the Capital District has hosted the MAAC baseball championships. Back then, the tournament was at Heritage Park in Colonie.
We’re thrilled to bring this Tournament and the excitement of postseason Division I baseball back to the Capital Region, said Siena Athletic Director John D’Argenio in a press release. `I’d like to thank Hudson Valley Community College Athletic Director Kristan Pelletier for making this first class facility available, and helping us put the bid together.`
The top four teams in the regular season standings qualify for the MAAC Tournament. Games will be played May 24-27, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Division I tournament.“
