A woman who was involved in a two-car crash with a State Trooper on Route 9 on Saturday, June 25, died at Albany Medical Center on Monday, June 27, according to State Police reports.
According to police reports, around 9:19 p.m. on Route 9 in the Town of Malta, a vehicle pulled out in front of a state police patrol car and the trooper took evasive action and steered around the vehicle and into the northbound lanes, striking a 2003 Hyundai being operated by Lisa Marie Favaro, 30, of Texas.
Favaro was transported to Albany Med by Malta EMS and Albany Med Flight with a fractured left pelvis and compound fracture to her left forearm. According to police reports, no cause of death has been given pending an autopsy.
Favaro’s passenger, Christopher Favaro, 28, of Ballston Spa, was also transported to Saratoga Hospital for a leg injury and the trooper was transported to Saratoga Hospital for treatment of a leg injury and scalp abrasion and released.
The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is assisting in the crash investigation. The driver of the car who pulled out from Bayberry Drive has been located and interviewed but is not being identified until the conclusion of the investigation.
