The Colonie Police Department said Tyler Rooney has been located and has been reunited with his family. Check the May 25 print edition of the Spotlight News for more details.
Rooney, 16, went missing at 6:30 a.m. According to a press release, police said Rooney left a note behind for his family that has increased their concern, as the child has had previous issues with depression and has made mentions of bridges in the past.
It doesn’t have anything indicative that says he’s going to kill himself or say goodbye to everyone, said Colonie Police Lt. Robert Winn. `It had a cryptic message with darker undertones. Coupled with a past history of depression has them concerned. But there was no specific threat to himself or others.`
Winn said Rooney’s sister called his parents that he had not gone to school but was also not home. She had found the letter in the house.“
