Bethlehem police arrested a Delmar man last night for allegedly snatching cash from the Hannaford supermarket in the Delaware Plaza.
Police say Roger E. Sulem, 32, of Pine Street in Delmar, approached a cashier at about 11:33 p.m. last night asking for change for a dollar. When the cashier opened the drawer he allegedly pushed her away and removed the cash, then fled on foot, according to police.
The Albany Police Department assisted in locating Sulem on Delaware Avenue and he was apprehended, according to police. He was charged with robbery in the third degree, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Sulem was remanded to Albany County jail without bail and was schedule to reappear in Bethlehem Town Court on Monday, May 23, for a preliminary hearing.
