Bethlehem police today arrested two people for allegedly growing marijuana in a Pine Street home.
Town police along with members of the Albany Police Department executed a search warrant at 11 Pine St., Delmar, at about 6:43 a.m. today and said they found 92 marijuana plants.
Joseph Addario, 43, of Delmar and his girlfriend, Holly Kelly, 46, of Argyle, were both charged with the following: criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree (a felony), unlawful growing of cannabis, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of fireworks. Addario was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third and fourth degrees.
Police said as a convicted felon Addario was not allowed to possess several long guns allegedly found in the house.
Also allegedly located in the search was a high-capacity magazine for an assault rifle, Oxycodone and Darvocet (painkillers) and equipment for growing marijuana. The plants were being grown in a greenhouse, police said.
Bethlehem police said the search was the result of an investigation that involved another individual and observation of the home. Despite having so many plants a department representative said it’s believed the marijuana was mostly being cultivated for personal use; most of the plants were in the infancy stage and their buds were being clipped, police said. Processed marijuana was also found, according to police.
Addario was remanded to Albany County jail in lieu of $15,000 bail, and Kelly in lieu of $7,500 bail. They are both scheduled to reappear in court on June 7.`
