The candidates running for the Cohoes Central School District will participate in a forum on Wednesday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cohoes Middle School Library, 7 Bevan Street.
Audience members will submit written questions to candidates Chuck Mossey, Laurie Rizzo, Anne Marie Hume, Christine Batchleder, John Charles, Mat Nolin and Chris Briggs. Voting will take place on Tuesday, May 17, from noon until 9 p.m. at three elementary schools. The two members who receive the most votes will be elected to full three year terms and the two members who receive the third and fourth highest total votes will be elected to fill partial terms due to resignations on the board. The annual school district budget will also be voted on May 17th. Details about the budget may be found on the district’s website: www.cohoes.org.
To be eligible to vote you must be a US citizen, 18 years of age or older, a resident of the Cohoes School District for at least thirty days prior to the election, and registered to vote in either general elections or with the school district. If not already registered you may do so on May 3-6 and May 9-12 at the three elementary schools during business hours.
